MEDICAL DOSIMETRY PROGRAM

ADMISSION PROCESS

STEP 1: APPLICATION & DOCUMENTS

Applicants should complete the general program application (www.cahe.edu/apply) along with a $50.00 (non-refundable) application fee. All required supplemental documents may be found on the “Application Checklist” and should be mailed/submitted in person. Documents may either be submitted individually or together. All documents should be in prior to the scheduled interview date.

STEP 2: ENTRANCE EXAM

Applicants who are exempt from the entrance examination requirement or successfully pass the required portions of the entrance examination will be scheduled to begin the interview process. Applicants who are required to take one or both portions of the entrance examination will be scheduled to do so.

ENTRANCE EXAM EXEMPTION CRITERIA:

Applicants, who possess an associate degree or greater from an institution in the United States, accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by USDOE, at the time of applying, are automatically exempt from taking the math and reading portions of the entrance exam.  

 Students who have completed the equivalent of an associate degree abroad are automatically exempt from the math portion of the exam but may be subject to taking the reading portion.  

 Additionally, applicants who meet at least one of the criteria in each section below will be exempt from the respective entrance examination section(s):  

EXEMPTION FROM READING:

  • A minimum SAT score of 470 in Critical Reading or ACT score of 19 in English. 
  • A minimum grade of a “C” on a college-level, credit-bearing English Literature course from an accredited institution, by an accrediting agency recognized by USDOE.  

EXEMPTION FROM MATH:

  • A minimum SAT score of 490 in Math or ACT score of 20 in Math. 
  • A minimum grade of a “C” on a college-level, credit-bearing Math course from an accredited institution, by an accrediting agency recognized by USDOE. 

Applicants scheduled to take the exam will be provided with a link as to how to best prepare/study. People who take and do not successfully pass the entrance exam will be able to re-take it once. Those who successfully pass the exam will move forward to the final step of the Admissions Process (interview with Program Staff). Those who do not move forward will have to wait one year to reapply to any program offered by The Center. 

STEP 3: INTERVIEW

A formal interview is required of all applicants as the last step in the admissions process. Applicants are encouraged to dress professionally and familiarize themselves with the field, program structure, and accreditation. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS:

Members of the Admissions Committee will review each file, including but not limited to supporting documents, entrance exam results, prior academic performance, and interview results. A final decision regarding acceptance into the program may be expected following the interview. Upon acceptance, a registration and enrollment fee must be paid to reserve a seat in the program. Once this step is complete, information regarding enrollment and orientation will be emailed to the student. Individuals must submit all required forms, paperwork, agreements, tuition/fees, as well as pass all required screenings and clearances within the required time frames to complete the acceptance process. Space is limited and seats are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
